I've quit smoking and need some HELP!?

So I basically have quit smoking on a regular basis (regular for me having been up to a pack and a half every day for the last 7 or 8 years), and it's not driving me as mad as it normally does when I try to quit, but I need something to do besides eat! I've been on foodnetwork.com all day because I thought typing and websurfing would distract my fingers, and found myself eyeball-deep in botched hollandaise sauce and perfect lemon cupcakes. When I do yoga, all I can think about is how nice the relaxation would be with a Marb Mild burning between my fingers… I've been cigarette-free for 4 whole days and just need some advice to keep from getting too restless. I'm trying to avoid hobbies (for now) where I normally smoke like reading or tanning or beading. HELP!

I am so proud of you for quitting. My best friend tried a few times and now he's been clean for 8 years!

He found that you had to replace the habit, for instance if your friends go outside to smoke then you stay in and do some work until the craving passes.

You've been smoking for so long that it became an activity in and of itself so in order for you to beat the habit fully you have to replace the activity.

Hang in there and yes, you should get a hobby, think of the money you'll save.

Stay strong, it's difficult but not impossible and take it one hour at a time.
Keep up the PHENOMENAL work and if you give in, get up, shake it off and start again, don't beat yourself up for what you think was a "failure"

Why do people stigmatize busy and very tired people?

I have known many people that have busy lives, and I have been victim to having to have a very busy life style.

They and me, really do not get time to rest because there are more problems (real problems) outside of our control that accumulate faster than they an be solved by us and anyone else who may help if they believe us.

This means that sleep has to be sacrificed and so illness creeps in.

I know one woman who has got so stressed and so exhausted that she had to be taken to hospital due to a bodily dysfunction where her heart started to pack in, and she nearly died.
All because people tell them that they are not trying to relax enough, that they are suffering from psychogenic-ally caused restlessness and so on. I feel that these people are being exploited.
This individual now suffers from angina, as well as her insomnia and restless coupled with the exhaustion.

No one gives them any help at all and while one set of people tell them that they are not relaxing enough, the other set of people are telling them that they are too lazy.
You cannot get these two sets of people to argue this issue out either because they cannot relate the two accusations to each other enough to find an excuse to argue.

These people have basic human rights, they should not neglected like this all the time.
Some of these people have died, and I feel that these people who complain that they do not relax enough are responsible for man slaughter.

This is abuse.

All these people are doing is pushing them as far as they possibily can, and finding any excuse that they possibily can to aviod helping them out.
Telling them that they need to do relaxation exersizes and so on is an example of how people are trying to aviod the issue.

These people need to go jail.

What do you think should happen to deal with these abusive people and what help can these victims get?

I don’t know the answers to your question,what i know is that in the United States,peoples don’t know how to relax,but at the same time proud themselves to be hard workers,so what’s the solution?

I had my baby a year and a half ago and i had alot of complications she was born at 34 weeks but with 8 pounds.I started dilating at 28 weeks i was already 3 cm dilated.Then after my c-section my incision got infected and they had to reopen my cut and pack it with gauze and clean with it with hydrogen peroxide every day twice a day. After that i started having a problem that i couldn't empty my bladder at all it was horrible i had to go to the bathroon every 2 minutes to fully empty my bladder the sensation to pee wouldn't go away though so like i had to push my bladder to pee and it really hurted.The doctors taught me some relaxation techniques for my bladder but they didn't work. Now i'm 11 weeks pregnant and it's really bad really bad! I can't even leave the bathroom when i feel like peeing again pregnancy probably makes it worse so now i can't even rest at night cuz every 2 minutes exactly i swear i have to go push to be able to pee and i think that pushing is bad for me too cuz my
cervix can open up cuz my cervix is really weak i'm really scared what should i do? I can't take it anymore but when i pee to push it feels like i'm gonna push the baby out too! This pregnancy is high risk too so i have to be careful but i don't know what to do has anybody had a similar problem of incomplete emptying of the bladder before? THanks
Does anybody know if that force on my bladder to pee can really cause a miscarriage or early dilating?

Have your doctors tried inserting a catheter for the duration of the pregnancy? I know walking around with a bag of urine will not be at all comfortable, but it wont be painful at least.

The only other option that I can think of is adult diapers, at least for sleeping in. I know that sounds horrible and embarrassing, but it might be better then having a potetial accident or getting up every two minutes at night.

I'll be praying for you and this pregnancy.

Is casual smoking harmful?

I have a serious question here, and would appreciate some serious answers :)

I'm 19 and I smoke probably about…ten cigarettes a month on average. The only time I pick up cigarettes is, say, when my buddies are stepping out for a smoke - I'll sometimes join them. Now I know that most of you are going to say "Quit while you can!", etc, but I don't find them addicting at all. Just a nice relaxation/social time about once a week. Is smoking, say, 10 cigarettes a month harmful?

In other words, "hypothetically, if I never got addicted, and smoke at most 10 cigs a month, should I worry about cancer?" Obviously the risk is much, much, much lower than a full time smoker (pack a day, etc… I'm at what like half a pack a month?)… but is there any foreseeable risk of cancer, doing what I'm doing now?

Any smoking is bad hun. The longer you smoke the more likely you are to get addicted. The damage tobacco causes is awful. I was a long time smoker and it was the hardest thing I ever did to quit.. Find something else that is healthier to do casually.
