A Summer In Europe - Part 10 [grand finale]

Part 10 (of 10) [london/outro/credits]
Tried to make this one a bit more upbeat, as the overall mood while we were there wasn’t that happy.
The Guinness was amazing. Some random stuff. The Changing of the Guard (in their rain gear), the trendy bar Lab - lame, everything in the country was expensive, Interpol was in town along with some free speech campers, Big Ben, Parliament, The London Bridge, a butterfly kick, Princess Di, almost seeing the famous statue of Peter Pan, a lot of American Coffee, more pigeons, some sort of benefit concert, the British version of Broadway, goodbye.
It should be noted that smoking in enclosed public spaces had been banned about 2 days before we showed up — London decided to go “Smoke Free” as they said. Okay. Already, famous people were caught breaking the law.
After their departure I had to hang out for a couple days. I didn’t do much except hang out, drink, and relax. I read quite a bit, figured out the soundtrack for 90% of this film, and talked with others in the hostel. The NIN song is the same from the beginning sunrise. The shots in the airport are from when I decided to sleep in Terminal 4, where the day before saw 9 hours of flights get cancelled due to a ’suspect’ package, hence the misplaced campers alongside me — filling up the entire terminal essentially. It was nice that this happened the day BEFORE I left and the day AFTER everyone else left. Plus I got a free blanket/sleeping pad, and loads of free food and coffee — from the nicely outfitted “coffee shop in a smart car” they brought in to please the angry travelers. Just about everyone was stressed except me. Yay. I finished about 100 sudoku before my flight left the next morning, ate way too much food (finishing off my reserves), and only was delayed a mere 45 minutes or so.
Missing the flight in PA wasn’t so much fun, but it didn’t hinder me too much. I still had a Qdoba waiting for me upon my arrival back in Denver. I drove home that night watching the fireworks of the 4th of July on both sides of E-470.
Editing the credits sequence was quite possibly the most fun I had throughout the whole process. It took forever, but was totally worth it. If you watch (very) closely, there are some clips in the credits that weren’t anywhere else in the movie. The sunset/sunrise were filmed Aug 2 and Aug 5, 2007. 2 hours each sped up to about 15 secs each.
Also, my apologies, but I messed one minor thing up — I capitalized my name in the credits. I didn’t mean to, as I really dug my lower case letter theme I had going on. Ah well, after 1 solid week of editing nonstop, during every waking hour (quite literally 12+ hrs/day), plus 2 all-nighters, I suppose a couple fudges here and there can be excused. 100 hours of editing I’m thinking, I didn’t keep track, but I feel it was all worth it. I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did.
I end the movie with one of the most beautiful clips of Europe I could find out of the 1400 or so I had once I came home.

What does it take to create a top-notch tourism commercial? In Philadelphia, it involves a guy in pajamas, a teddy bear, several stunt bears, 15 professional dancers, 39 extras, the mayor and a famous director. The city’s new Broadway-style commercial, Philly: The Musical, reinforces the Philly’s More Fun When You Sleep Over® message and promotes the Philly Overnight® Hotel Package, both of which are partly responsible for the Philadelphia region’s enormous growth as a leisure tourism destination over the past five years. The commercial is the centerpiece of the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC)’s $2 million summer tourism campaign.
